I’m Natalie Wan, LISW-CP

As a clinical social worker, I’ve learned that using my lived experience of chronic illness and anxiety can better help me serve clients in my field. I’ve found that curating a brave and safe space to navigate those emotions is the most important way to reach my clients.

I founded Mend the Page Therapy because I believe that even when life feels like a story that has gone off-script, we all have the power to edit and reclaim our own narrative. My journey into this work was fueled by a desire to help others slow down and stay present as they navigate their own paths toward healing—whether that involves anxiety, a difficult life decision, chronic illness, or a new health diagnosis.

To aid in your journey, I operate from a trauma-informed and LGBTQIA+ affirming lens. What this means is that anyone who comes into a session with me is accepted and welcomed. I also don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I view our work together as a collaborative process where we look at the intricate “pages” of your life with compassion and curiosity. My goal is to help you find the tools to move forward with a sense of agency, ensuring that you remain the primary author of your own healing and growth.

My Approach

At the heart of my work, I believe that every individual deserves to be:

  • Seen for their unique history.

  • Heard without judgment.

  • Accepted exactly as they are.

As humans, we can feel stuck in unhelpful thought spirals, or overwhelmed by new changes. With therapy, I hope to create a space for you to navigate and challenge these emotions. Through a warm approach, I aim to empower you to cultivate self-awareness and self-compassion, providing the necessary tools to live a fuller, more fulfilling life.

My specialties

I specialize in supporting adolescents, adults and older adults through the complexities of chronic pain and illness, anxiety, depression, and the many transitions life brings our way. Utilizing a multi-modality approach, we will work together on what best suits you during your healing journey. Through my education I have been trained in:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Together, we will find what works best for your needs as we begin exploring your concerns in session.
